(Like, a banner that adds unbreakable + big combat bonuses, or methed-up slayers with some temporary no-units-can-die effect they can activate) It would be very difficult to get these guys to high level, so the max-level rewards could be great. The cool part is that their death would give you some benefit that scaled with their level (as a reward for them fulfilling their oath/inspiring other dwarfs with their legend.) This reward could be as simple as a pile of oathgold, but I like the idea that it would either be a powerful follower/banner (a bard that sings of their deeds/a banner that inspires units from their legacy), or maybe adding a unique slayer unit to an RoR-like pool. (It might still be woundable on the campaign map through hero actions.) They also wouldn't have any +hero recruit rank effects, so the'd always start off at level 1. Stats-wise it's just what you would expect, unbreakable damage-dealer melee infantry, very glass cannon-y, maybe with rampage.īut, it could not be made immortal, and would have a special case to always die if slain in battle. This doesn't address any balance thing, it's just for flavor and fun.
